Don't want to use X? Say goodbye forever like this
A large number of users are currently leaving the Elon Musk-owned social network X. This series has especially happened after the recent US presidential election. Those leaving X include ordinary users as well as famous celebrities and organizations.
Just this month, the British news publication The Guardian has decided to archive its X account and no longer post there. If you are also thinking of deleting your social network X account, then today we will discuss it:
First, let's discuss how to do this from the smartphone app:
Sign in to your X account.
Tap on the profile icon.
Scroll to the side menu. And, tap on Settings and Support and go to Settings and Privacy.
From there, go to Deactivate your account under Your account.
Now tap on Deactivate.
After this, you will have to enter your password. As soon as you complete this step, the account will be deactivated. If you change your mind, you can reactivate the account within 30 days of deactivation. The important thing to remember here is that deactivating the account does not mean deleting it.
If you want to permanently delete your account, do not reactivate your account for 30 days. After 30 days, your account will be automatically deleted permanently.
Now let's talk about doing this from a computer:
If you are running X from a web browser on a computer, follow these steps:
Sign in to your X account through the browser.
Go to Settings and privacy by clicking More on the left menu.
Under the Your Account section, click Deactivate your account.
Click Deactivate.
After this, enter your password.
This way, you can delete your X account from both the smartphone app and the web browser. But in the meantime, if you have important data in the account, don't forget to download it.
