HDMI a digital look

HDMI a digital look

Man has been trying to make his life easier since the beginning. This is the reason why we see new inventions in the world from time to time. Then other new things came out of that invention. With time, man began to consider his needs along with his desires. Entertainment became the need of this long life and these needs gave birth to a new thing, which came to be called "technology". The computer is the gift of this, the advent of which brought a revolution in the life of common people. It also had an impact on politics. Technology is mainly of two types, digital and analog. It has evolved more with the digital age. The full name of HDMI is High Definition Multimedia Interface, which is a very new form of digital technology.

(What is HDMI technology)

HDMI technology is a video audio technology, which converts these two signals into a single digital interface, which is used in digital video discs, digital television and digital set top boxes. A total of 19 wires are separated from each other in the cable used in this. These cables carry high speed video, audio and various digital singles. This technology is based on High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is often used to protect digital signals coming from and transmitted from DVI displays. The HDMI standard supports all types of video with its audio in excellent, high definition. HDMI also supports transmitted digital video, the bandwidth of which can be up to five gigabytes. Today, all kinds of big companies are using it. It is an alternative to the analog video standard.

HDMI defines all protocol signals, electrical signals. Initially, the maximum pixel clock of HDMI 1.0 was 165 MHz, which took video signals up to 1080 pixels. After that, the frequency of HDMI 1.3 was 340 MHz, whose resolution range was (2500-1600). An HDMI can be of single double link. Video transmission of less than 25 MHz is done with pixel-to-pixel ratio.

The Display Data Channel (I2C) is a channel based on the bus specification. It is used to read EEDID data in HDMI channel.

The DDC channel in HDMI is for the protection of high bandwidth digital content.

Apart from this, there is no need to change the signal by using an adapter or an unusual cable for its use, so that there is no loss in the video data. HDCP is a new form of digital rights management. HDMI can encrypt the signal from the source device via HDCP if needed.

HDMI cable

There are two types of cables available for HDMI, standard cables and high speed cables.

Standard Cable:

Standard cable category 1 is also known as HDMI. It works at a pixel speed of 75 MHz with a bandwidth of 2.23 Gbps. It can easily handle 1080i signal without compression.

High Speed Cable:

This cable is also known as HDMI 2. It works with 10.2 GBPS bandwidth with pixel speed of 340 MHz. This cable can carry video-audio signals of 1440P quality.

HDMI connector

A total of five types of HDMI are available. Type A/B are defined in the first version of HDMI. After this, type D and E are used for HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.4. Different types of cable connectors are used for different types of HDMI connections. One connector cannot be used for two types of HDMI. For this, the details of the length of the HDMI cable have not been given anywhere.

A special type of cable is used for 1.3, the frequency of which is 74.5 MHz. Apart from this, a separate cable is used for high speed. A standard cable is used for 1080i to 720p. This cable is also used in Ethernet. High speed HDMI cable is used for 1080p, 4k 30fps 3D dark color.

With the advent of this technology, a lot of work has been done in the world of television. The same channel is coming in two ways. The most special thing about HD channel is that it does not have commercial ads and the picture is seen with much better quality. HD channels are slightly more expensive than standard channels. It has picture quality and the sound is very clear and good.

HDMI Advantages

Best Quality: This technology causes minimal loss of data during transmission. This gives a very good video quality. It can be enjoyed even on a low brightness screen. Because of this, its video quality is much better than analog systems. In this technique, the pictures on the screen are very sharp, so that the details can be read very easily.

Signal Integrity: This technology can store digital signals and transmit them later without any data loss. In this way, signal degradation does not occur, due to which it is used for HD content.

Single cable: One of the major achievements of this technology is that all its signals are transmitted through a single cable. These signals contain video, audio and control information.

Fast color: This technology supports 10, 12 and 16 bit color depth, which can define millions of colors very well on the screen.

Uncompressed: Since no compression is done during transmission of HD single, the signal quantity is not reduced.

Support of different types of video formats: With the help of this technology, all types of video formats are enjoyed. Formats like 720P, 1080i, 1080P, NTSC, PAL etc. can be transmitted very easily.

HDMI Disadvantages

The maximum distance of HDMI Cat 1 cable is 35 meters, while it becomes 10 meters for Cat 2, after that an extender is used for transmission. Even the switch, transmitter amplifier, audio video processor all work like a repeater.

Sometimes the screen turns black or shows an error when there is a delay in authentication.

Compared to analog computer cable, its cable is more expensive.

There is a lot of problem in the field termination of HDMI cable. For example, they cannot be replaced in their analog form.
