The Election Commission has started the process of collecting voter lists for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun. Every citizen who has completed 16 years of age and has a Nepali citizenship certificate can register their name.
The Commission has stated that this process can be done online as well as at the provincial and district election offices.
Names can be registered at the relevant offices from 8 am to 6 pm for the collection of the list.
Online Pre-Registration Application Process
Not only can you register your name in the voter list, but you can also pre-register online to correct errors in your details or change your address. Today we are telling you how to do a new registration:
For this, first of all, go to this link on the official website of the Election Commission.

There you will see two options: ‘New Registration’ and ‘Update List’.
If you have not registered your name in the voter list yet, click on ‘New Registration’. If you are an old voter and want to correct the error in the details or move the voter list, click on ‘Update the list’.
To fill the new registration form, you must first enter your phone number.
After entering the phone number, an OTP will be sent to that number. Fill in the OTP in the designated space on the commission’s website.
After entering the OTP, you will have to go through various steps to fill in the details in the new window that appears.
Click on ‘New Registration’ and read ‘Things to note before filling out the application’, tick the box that says ‘I am not included in the voter list yet’ and click on ‘Start’.
Now, in the new window that opens, enter the province, district, rural municipality/municipality, ward number and the name of the polling station and go to the next form.
Now, you have to fill in your personal details. Here, enter the voter’s name (in Nepali and English), profession, educational qualification, mother tongue, marital status, gender, relationship (grandfather, father/mother, husband/wife’s name), telephone number, mobile number and email address and go to the next form.
In the next step, you need to fill in the details of date of birth, district and date of issuance of citizenship, place of birth and permanent residence. Also, you need to upload a photograph of citizenship not less than 100 KB in size and proceed for the new form.
If you are a person with a disability, then disclose the type of disability.
After this, select your mother tongue, educational qualification and group category and proceed.
Now you need to select the place and date for taking the photograph and giving fingerprints (biometric).
After filling in all the details, click on the 'Confirm' button and if all the details are correct, click on the 'Register' button. After this, your online application will be registered.
After registering the online application, the voter must take the registration form obtained from the online for taking the photograph and giving fingerprints (biometric), his/her citizenship certificate and its copy, migration certificate and its copy in cases other than permanent address, and marriage registration certificate and its copy in case of married women.
