Paytm app was removed from the Google Play Store

That's why the Paytm app was removed from the Google Play Store

Google on Friday removed the app of Indian mobile payment company Paytm from the Play Store. Google removed the app, citing repeated Play Store rules.

Google had taken steps to ban new downloads of the app in India for running fantasy games. According to Google, the Paytm app supports online casinos and sports betting.

Google has stated that online casino or gambling apps for sports betting are not subject to its rules.

Such apps have a betting feature that encourages users to take out external websites, charging money from all users, and rewarding those who make accurate guesses.

Within a few hours of the removal of the Paytm app from the Play Store, the app became available again. The app was re-launched after the company fixed the issue on Google's terms.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting today. Paytm is one of the sponsors of IPL.

An online casino and sports betting app are being launched for the IPL.
