YouTube, Facebook and TikTok are the sources of 60 percent of Nepal's internet traffic

It has been found that almost 60 percent of the internet traffic in Nepal comes from YouTube, Facebook and Tik Tok. According to the latest data published by Nepal Network Operators Group (NPNOG), more traffic comes through these platforms out of the total internet traffic in Nepal.

In the research conducted by NPNOG, it has been seen that YouTube, Facebook and Tik Tok are very popular among internet users in Nepal. According to the report published by the organization, 18.6 percent of Nepal's total internet traffic comes from Tiktok, 19.6 percent from Facebook and 20.2 percent from Google.

Samit Jan, president of NPNOG, disclosed the data in an event held in Bhaktapur on Monday and said that there is very little traffic from other content network platforms in Nepal.

Most people use YouTube to watch video content. Facebook has become a major platform for social networking and news sharing. Similarly, the short video sharing platform Tiktok is also becoming popular in Nepal recently. Since these three major platforms are more popular among Nepali users, more traffic comes from them.

This data highlights that other platforms are struggling to establish a significant presence in the Nepali market.
