More than 35 household and scientific gadgets can be operated by your Android phone
With the development of modern technology, smartphones are rapidly replacing our traditional hand tools and scientific instruments. Features like music player, camera, calculator and GPS navigator have already been installed in the phone.
However, today's modern Android smartphone is not limited to this. Using the many state-of-the-art sensors inside the phone - such as the accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, ambient light sensor, barometer and sophisticated camera system - it can handle more than 35 traditional measurements and tools alone.
This advancement in technology has freed the consumer from the hassle and expense of separately purchasing expensive tools for the home, workshop, garden and scientific laboratory. More than 35 tools and alternative apps that can be replaced by Android smartphones are discussed here.
1. Screen ruler
Apps that show the actual ruler scale next to the phone screen (such as Ruler or Ruler – Smart Tools) are very useful for measuring small objects. It is used as a pitch gauge to measure the inclination angle of roofs, ramps, mountain roads or camera rigs. It shows the slope of the surface in percentage or degrees.

These digital technologies in smartphones are not a 100% substitute for professional engineering or industrial field proven devices, but they can be a wonderful digital tool for daily home maintenance (DIY), casual measurements, and students.
