Apple and Google, two big rivals in the technology sector, have announced a historic partnership. According to which, Apple will use Google's Gemini AI technology to make its voice assistant Siri more personal and powerful.

Apple evaluated Google's technology as the most capable basis for the 'Apple Foundation Model' and chose it. Apple has been working on an AI-upgraded version of Siri for the past year, which will be able to understand the user's personal context and perform actions on their behalf.

With the help of Google's Gemini 3 AI model, Siri will now provide features like 'World Knowledge Answers'. which will search the web for information and provide an AI-generated summary. This new and improved Siri is expected to be released this year.

Although Apple uses Google's cloud technology and Gemini model, it has said that it will not compromise on user privacy. Apple Intelligence features will still run on Apple devices and the company's own private cloud computing. Most AI processing will be done on-device or through tightly controlled infrastructure.

Although the financial terms of this partnership have not been officially disclosed, various international media have written the news that Apple will pay about 1 billion US dollars annually for using Google's AI technology. This agreement is considered a big win for Google, which has strengthened Google's position in the competition against OpenAI.

What is special is that only last week Google's parent company Alphabet surpassed Apple in terms of market capitalization for the first time since 2019. Apple has already integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT to answer complex questions in Siri. It is not clear how this new partnership with Google will affect the relationship with ChatGPT.

But Apple said there was no change in its contract. In addition, Apple is also exploring the possibility of collaboration with companies such as Anthropic and Perplexity.
