Google Gemini gets ‘Personal Intelligence’ feature, now you can get personalized answers based on your data
Google has started making its ‘Personal Intelligence’ feature available globally in its artificial intelligence Gemini. In an official announcement on Tuesday, Google said that it has brought this feature to users in other countries after the US.
However, for now, this service will not be available in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland and the United Kingdom (UK). This feature allows users to connect their Google accounts such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive and other workspace apps, as well as Google Photos, YouTube, Search and Maps, with Gemini. By accessing the text, photos and videos in these apps, Gemini will provide answers based on the user’s personal needs and interests. For this, the user does not have to provide detailed information every time.
According to Google, Personal Intelligence will make many tasks of daily life easier. For example, Gemnai will suggest suitable options based on your recent purchases, favorite brands, and styles. For example, if you bought new gold shoes, it can recommend bags with gold hardware to match them.
Even if you forget which model you bought and when, Gemnai will tell you the exact way to fix the problem with the device based on the bill in Gmail.
Similarly, during air travel, Gemnai will plan where to eat at the airport based on your flight arrival and departure times, the distance between gates, and your favorite foods.
Instead of a 'top 10' list of any city (like Thailand), it will recommend hidden tourist attractions and local foods based on your interests and past favorites.
It can also suggest new activities that you don't know about but that match your interests (like nature and reading).
This feature is completely 'opt-in'. That is, users can only activate it if they want. Users can choose or change which apps they want to give Jemanai access to at any time. It can also be turned off via a new toggle in the Tools menu.
Jemanai will also show the source of its answers, so that users can verify the details.
Google has also made it clear that Jemanai may not always understand the correct context of your data. It can sometimes make connections between completely unrelated topics. It can be especially difficult for it to understand family changes or subtle differences in interests, such as divorce.
For example, if you have hundreds of photos of a golf course, Jemanai might think that you like golf. But in reality, you may have gone there to support your son because you love him. In such a case, if the user says, "I don't like golf," Jemanai can correct you.
For now, this feature is available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra customers, while free users will receive this service in the next few weeks. Users can use it from the Gemnai app or web version.
How to use it?
To use Personal Intelligence in Gemnai, first open the Gemnai mobile app or website and check if Personal Intelligence is available there.
If this feature has already come to your Gemnai, click on it and click on Connected Apps.
Now from there, turn on the toggle button for which apps you want to give Gemnai access, such as Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Keep, and Google Tasks), Google Photos, Google Search, YouTube, YouTube Music, GitHub, and connect the app.
After doing this, Gemnai will now take data from various apps you use to provide personalized feedback.
