Search engine 'DuckDuckGo' records after signals, 100 million search queries in a single day

The issue of privacy has been hotly debated online lately. Meanwhile, search engine DuckDuckGo, which focuses on user privacy, has also managed to set a new record this week.

For the first time in 12 years of operation, this search engine has received 100 million search queries in a single day. Putting this new record on Monday, DuckDuckGo has proven that people are becoming more aware of privacy.

The number of users of DuckDuckGo has been increasing for the last two years. Since August last year, more than 2 billion search queries have started coming every month.

Following the popularity of DuckDuckGo, the search engine has launched a mobile app for Android and iOS in addition to its own site. People also believe in it because of the dedicated chrome extension.

The company said that in September last year, more than 4 million users had installed these apps and extensions. Now, this number has also increased significantly.

The privacy policy of this search engine is the main reason behind its popularity. Primarily, it does not collect any user data. When it comes to search results, it doesn't show the same results for all users.

In some cases, the lack of data can sometimes make it difficult for a company to estimate the size of its own users.

Has managed to reach a crowd of users who are aware of their privacy. This search engine is the default in the Tor browser and is also the default in other privacy-related browsers.
