Case filed in India against Cambridge Analytica for stealing Facebook data

A case has been filed in India against the British company Cambridge Analytica for stealing the data of an Indian Facebook user. In India, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against Cambridge Analytics for stealing data from Facebook.

Cambridge Analytica has been providing political advice in particular. According to the CBI, the company claims to have stolen the data of more than 562,000 Indian Facebook users.

Earlier, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that the CBI had been tasked with investigating Cambridge Analytics, which was accused of stealing Facebook's data.

Based on that, the CIB has filed a case against the company. Another company, Global Science Research (GSRL), has also been sued in the same incident.

A study by the CBI found that Global Science Research had stolen data from 5.62 million Facebook users in India and that the data had increased with Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica said the data was used in elections in India.
