Dynamic email from Google Drive now to provide direct file access to Gmail


Google introduced AMP in Gmail last year to make Gmail more functional and interactive. Drive will now send dynamic emails to make it easier for file owners to manage requests directly within Gmail.


You can get notifications when someone sends a request for permission to your Google Drive file as before.




An in-line drop-down menu of the message will have the options of editor, commentator, and viewer, as well as the optional message field and share button. You can also see 'Open Share Settings'.


Previously you had to open the document in a new tap or app to manage the access request. But dynamic email has made it easier and faster.

Users of Google's Workplace editions can use Essential, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essential, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Non-Profit Custer and Personal Google Accounts.


Google rolled out this feature on October 20th.
