Use of artificial intelligence in flood management in India

The Union Water Resources Ministry has entered into an agreement with Google, which will help in the effective and effective management of floods in India. This cooperation agreement between the Central Water Commission of India and Google will make it easier to forecast floods and make flood information accessible to the general public. This will help in issuing necessary location-targeted actionable flood warnings by improving flood forecasting systems. Under this, the Central Water Commission will use state-of-the-art progress made by Google in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Geospatial Mapping. This initiative is expected to help crisis management agencies to better deal with hydrological problems.

Artificial Intelligence in ISRO's Expeditions

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will use artificial intelligence in its future programs.

With this, ISRO will not only execute its space missions better but will also be able to analyze data accurately and quickly.

ISRO receives large-scale data from satellites, whose analysis is still done by scientists. This process takes a long time.

This work can be done more efficiently in less time than machines and software through Artificial Intelligence. For this, there is a plan to increase the use of robotics in ISRO's data centers.

Its biggest advantage will be in analyzing data coming from remote sensing satellites. Real-time use will be possible by analyzing them with Artificial Intelligence. With this, information on natural disasters, monitoring of crops, a gathering of information on resources, etc. will be done in a better way.

Apart from this, ISRO will also start using robots in the construction and testing of satellites. Artificial intelligence has been used in the rover that is to be launched in Chandrayaan-2 so that it will take samples from the surface and test them on the spot and send the report. The rover will have the ability to repair itself if there is a fault. Robots will also be sent in two unmanned flights of Gaganyaan, while animals are usually sent in such tests.

ICTAI of NITI Aayog, Intel and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research

NITI Aayog, Intel, and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research will establish the International Center for Variable Artificial Intelligence for the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence application-based research projects.

It is named International Center for Transformative Artificial Intelligence (ICTAI).

This initiative is a part of NITI Aayog's program 'National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence'.

The center is to be set up in Bangalore and will conduct research on artificial intelligence-based solutions in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, and smart mobility.

It will use the expertise of Intel and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

The institute will conduct tests, research, and establish best practices in areas such as administration, basic research, infrastructure, computation and service infrastructure, and attracting talent.

This center will develop the basic framework of Artificial Intelligence in the country.

Its aim is to develop policies and develop standards related to information technology.

It will develop Artificial Intelligence techniques to encourage application-based research.

It will focus on increasing collaboration with industry leaders, innovative entrepreneurs, and artificial intelligence service providers.

Its goal is to support them in skill training by developing talent for world-class artificial intelligence efficiency.

The knowledge and best practices developed by this center will be used by NITI Aayog to build ICTAI centers across the country.

The center will be particularly focused on the areas of health care, agriculture, education, smart cities, and mobility.
