Artificial Intelligence: In the coming time, drones will monitor the health of crops, plowing with GPS controlled tractors

In the coming times, the health of crops can be monitored through smart drones and plowing of fields with GPS controlled automatic tractors. Also, when and how much pesticides, fertilizers are to be used in the fields and things like how to improve the soil, farmers can be easily available at the right time. All this will be possible with the use of artificial intelligence and other related technologies.

Also, when and how much pesticides, fertilizers are to be used in the fields and things like how to improve the soil, farmers can be easily available at the right time. All this will be possible with the use of artificial intelligence and other related technologies. NITI Aayog in its discussion paper on 'National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence' has said that the use of artificial intelligence will increase efficiency at all levels of farming and increase the productivity of crops as well as the income of farmers.

It has been that under this technology, through 'image recognition' and 'deep learning model', 'soil health' can be found by taking pictures of fields and other data and farmers can take necessary steps to improve it. Huh. For this, laboratory testing infrastructure will not be required.

Apart from this, AI technology can be used for sowing, pesticide control, raw material as per requirement. Also, AI tools can provide accurate data of demand and supply to farmers based on data from e-NAM (Electronic National Agriculture Market), market and soil health sample, etc. This will eliminate middlemen and better information will increase the income of the farmers, while farming will be reliable.

In this 115-page discussion paper, the Commission has decided to emphasize the use of artificial intelligence in the fields of education, health, smart cities, smart vehicles, and transportation besides agriculture. He says that the use of this far-reaching technology in the education sector will increase the reach and quality of teaching-training.

According to the Commission, quality health facilities will reach people in the health sector, while providing efficient and better connectivity in smart cities and infrastructure will help.

According to the commission, however, there are some challenges in the way of the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This includes privacy and security issues including lack of broad-based expertise in the use and research of AI, lack of access to improved data, high resource costs and lack of awareness for the use of AI, lack of formal regulation regarding data confidentiality, and Lack of collaborative approach towards adoption of AI is included.

The discussion paper proposes a two-tier framework to give impetus to research in the field of AI in the country. First, 'Center of Research Excellence' (CORE) to develop a better understanding of current major research and advanced technology and secondly 'International Centers of Transformational AI' with the responsibility of advancing and using 'application' based research. (ICTAI) formed.

It has been said about employment as technology will bring a wide change in the nature of employment. In such a situation, the emphasis has been laid on providing skills to the workforce in a timely manner. According to the changing needs in the job market, it will be necessary to provide skills to the existing workforce and to prepare talent for the future.

It has also been said in the discussion paper that new employment opportunities will also be created in areas like data analysis. There will be so much employment created in these areas that can consume those who lost jobs due to automation. The discussion paper also states that given the potential of the information technology sector in the country, India can become a major country in the field of AI and provide this technology to 40 percent of the world (emerging and developing countries).
